The Houston Rockets on Monday released 11-year guard Eric"Sleepy" Floyd and acquired swingman Mario Elie from the PortlandTrail Blazers for a second-round draft pick in 1995.
Floyd, 33, was waived to create room under the NBA salary cap.He averaged 11.5 points and 5.4 assists in six seasons with theRockets. In 52 games last season, he averaged 6.6 points and 2.5assists. Elie signed as a free agent with the Trail Blazers lastsummer and played in all 82 games. He averaged 8.6 points and 2.6rebounds.
